-Today’s Podcast is a great journey with the story of the day’s music down the tunnel of time to light up your ears…..and there are some very interesting stories about the music of the day…Do you remember, for example, this day in 1955 – Actor James Dean was killed in a car accident at the age of 24 near Cholame, CA. Dean’s mechanic, who was also in the vehicle, eventually recovered from his injuries.
Remember you can listen to the day’s story of the music whilst reading my blog by clicking this link.
Sometimes I forget this blog is written as much for myself as for anyone who cares to read it. I put down the important things that might be seen to have been chances missed or things that should be teaching us lessons. For example, I have often read about appeasement and I had forgotten that Britain had been party to an appeasement at the end of World War 2 that sold Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland down the river. Well, it came back to haunt everyone around 1968 with Mr Dubchek if my memory serves me well. Do the job properly and at the right time is the lesson to learn. It’s like damp in the walls. If you don’t get the damp course put in correctly then don’t be surprised when it comes back to haunt you!
The Berlin airlift must have been really bad as the allies began to argue over the spoils of the war. To think we’d all just been dying as allies and immediately there was the chance to work together but no……we were like vultures waiting to devour part of the spoils. To think this was the end of one war and immediately we started the cold war with Russia…ugh!
It is easy to forget and it inspires me to write my blog. Rationing was part of the UKs day to day modus operandi when I was a lad and I probably didn’t even realise it was happening. I think kids are growing up far too fast as they are exposed to the onslought of the media but they still probably don’t really understand fully the implications and ramifications of what is going on. I certainly didn’t know that we were exposed to rationing until 1954. It didn’t really affect me as my parents were probably far too busy making sure we were looked after properly. That’s what our parents did for us and I hope we did the same for our children.
Later on were were far too busy listening to Radio 1 and Tony Blackburn…
The main church square in Torrevieja centre is the site of works to try to spread the plague of cockroaches that have infested the area.
The playground and other features have been pulled from the ground, to enable investigators to try to find the source of the many cockroaches that have been seen in the square recently.
Meanwhile, in Rojales, a number of palm trees in their main church square have had to be destroyed, as they became infested with the dreaded palm weevil, which is threatening palm trees all across the region.
On the other hand, the battle against mosquitoes seems to be favouring the humans, as 50 traps have been set across Torrevieja alone, whilst a fumigation company constantly spray their insecticide, in the hope that the spread of the painful tiger mosquito be controlled.
Recent improvements in tracking infestation, including using GPS satellite technology to highlight problem areas quicker, has led to a huge reduction in the reported number of stings from the insects, which feeds on the blood of her prey. In 2009 during a two day period, the Torrevieja hospital dealt with more than 100 sting related incidents, which has almost disappeared recently. Source:SpanishVida
What Religion is Your Bra?
A man walked into the ladies department and shyly walked up to the woman
behind the counter and said, ‘I’d like to buy a bra for my wife. ‘
‘What type of bra?’ asked the clerk.
‘Type?’ inquires the man, ‘There’s more than one type?’
‘Look around,’ said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every
shape, size, colour and material imaginable.
‘Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only four types
of bras to choose from.’
Relieved, the man asked about the types.
The saleslady replied:
‘There are the Catholic, Salvation Army, Presbyterian, and the Baptist
types. Which one would you prefer?’
Now totally befuddled, the man asked about the differences between them.
The Saleslady responded, ‘It is all really quite simple.’
The Catholic type supports the masses;
The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen;
The Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright;
The Baptist type makes mountains out of molehills.
Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD,

If you have wondered why, but couldn’t figure out what the letters stood
for, it is about time you became informed!
{A} Almost Boobs.

{C} Can’t Complain.
{D} Dang!
{DD} Double dang!
{E} Enormous!
{F} Fake.
{G} Get a Reduction.
