The day’s Podcast is always an interesting journey with the story of the day’s music over the years…..and there are some very interesting stories about the music of the day. 1967, During an appearance by Jimi Hendrix on ‘Top Of The Pops’, a technician put on the backing track of Alan Price’s ‘Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear’, to which Hendrix responded ‘I don’t know the words to this one man.’
NOT SO LUCKY LOOKY MEN
In twenty random raids, a total of 65 people have been arrested in Torrevieja, all accused of crimes of audiovisual piracy, seizing illegally copied CD´s, DVD´s and a range of computer equipment, as part of a crack down on intellectual property in the area.
Those arrested were brought before court number 2 in Torrevieja, where a full investigation is now being carried out. Additional arrests have not been ruled out by investigators who are seeking to crack down on so called “looky, looky” street traders who sell the illegally copied and distributed materials.
A mobile exhibition featuring the works of Antonio Gaudí visited Torrevieja this week, allowing children and visitors to marvel at some of the architecture and artwork of one of Spain´s most famous artists.
Visiting until Saturday 31st March, trips to the exhibition had been organised by local schools, enriching their educational experience with some of th cultural history of the works of an artist famous for the overall look of locations such as Barcelona, as well as one of the fountains in Torrevieja centre.

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an
entire class. That class had insisted that Gordon Brown’s socialism
worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great
equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class
on Gordon’s plan”.. All grades will be averaged and everyone will
receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an
A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and
more readily understood by all).
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied
little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who
studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard
decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame
and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study
for the benefit of anyone else.
To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that
socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great,
the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the
reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.
Remember, there IS a test coming up. The 2013 elections.
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you’ll ever read and all
applicable to this experiment:
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the
wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must
work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government
does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work
because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the
other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody
else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the
end of any nation.
Can you think of a reason for not sharing this?
10. Stressed out and don’t have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber will react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown to reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
11. Just finished a business lunch and realize you don’t have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
12. Looking for a ‘green’ way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but it won’t leave streaks and won’t harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!
