The true secret of giving advice is, after you have honestly given it, to be perfectly indifferent whether it is taken or not, and never persist in trying to set people right. – Hannah Whitall Smith, 1832-1911
Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you were. – Cherie Carter-Scott, 1949-present
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated failures. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
Calvin Coolidge

,There ‘s a quiz show I love on British TV called The Chase. There are several rounds but initially the person has to work on his/her own and it’s relatively easy to see whether they have a good general knowledge in the individual round. The chaser then offers them more or less money to get into the team stage of the game. Usually there’s an outrageously low sum to get a step away from the chaser and a great sum offered to get you nearer the chaser on the ladder of questions. I have to say I absolutely hate it when the team has built up a good sum of money which they share and a right dimbo then takes a hit of – 5 thousand just to get into the team stage and get a share of the money. It represents everything that I dislike about the UK at the moment when some people expect others to do all the donkey work and then expect a share of the spoils. I’m afraid I come from the school of thought that if you don’t work you don’t get anything. It’s obviously a bit different if you have a disability or you’re ill. Then we all pull together to carry the straggler.
The weather has been nice all week and we’ve been swimming in a very pleasant 26º in the pool. The radio show is aired each day 100.9fm for the Costa Blanca between midday and 2 pm. If you prefer to listen on the Internet the address is www.bigfm.es
