| Benidorm Palace opened in July 1977 and for more than 40 years has developed to become recognised and voted as the best evening theatre venue in Europe. Spain had only recently been freed from the grip of dictatorship when the Palace opened in 1977 and the atmosphere of the opening night was electric. When the doors opened more than 1500 guests were welcomed by footlights beaming on the compere who for the first time uttered the words: “Welcome to Benidorm Palace” |
